a monologue is essentially just a speech, directed at other play characters, at the audience, or both. A soliloquy is a character talking to themselves, expressing their thoughts and feeling
Lucasaroli
A monologue is by one character to another character; a soliloquy is from a character to themselves that can be heard by the audience.
