Know your tenses ( Perfekt and Werden for Future), Know your Question words ( They should be in your textbook ), Time Manner Place ( Word Order ) and It would also be clever to learn off paragraphs on certain topics that come up a lot eg Weihnachten, Meine Schule, Geburtstagparty etc

Hi, I have struggled with German for a while and I need some advice on what I can effectively study for the ‘Short-Note/Postcard’ and more importantly the Letter at this stage, the verbs and word order are things I tend to study with and I do not understand the meaning of the Perfekt, third person etc, any advice welcome. also is there any other part of the paper I should be perticular about when i’m prepering for it? thanks a mill Míle Buíochas Evo

@Ev0109, Okay girl it seems like you are struggling Das Perfekt tense: Is basically the only past tense you need to be able to write in for the JC ( You need to be able to recognise the Imperfekt for the last comprehension ). It is very similar to the Passe Compose in French. Look in your textbook for tips, Viel Spaß 2 explains it quite well. Eg: Ich bin nach Hause gegangen OR Ich habe Weihnachten gefeiert. Notes and Letters just need lots of practice and you can find sample ones online I will leave the description in my next post. If you have a Less Stress More Success book it is very good for letter and note/postcard revision. If not just vocab and Grammar like I have mentioned above. ^ The other section that you should pay loads of attention to is listening as it is quite difficult. It is worth 44% of the exam. Remember to completely show off your German skills in the writing section... Viel Glück
