Is anyone familiar with the new JC Irish course??
ec2406 Junior Cert Irish6

I'm giving grinds in a few subjects this year for both LC and JC including Gaeilge, but I just realised that the course is different for JC 2020. Can anyone fill me in? Can't find anything online

It's pretty messy with the new system. 10% is now based on continuous assessment. One student told me they have to write about 2/3 (I'm unsure about which) pieces of literature they read during their Irish JC cycle in 2nd or third year. But, I'm not sure if this is what all schools are doing. I recommend asking your students, because the system will be explained to them. Some schools are different in their approach. Or, speak with a former teacher of yours. They'll have all the necessary material. Also, there is a new list of poems and prose this year. I'm also giving grinds to a JC student. My plan is to spend the first couple of weeks going over grammar and vocab. They'll soon be told what they'll be studying in terms of literature. Ask them to let you know when they find out and you can plan accordingly. I'll come back when I get more information. This is all so new, it will take a while for the relevant info to come out.
