Most of the problems you hear about finding jobs in the bio/chem sector is that you have to go quite far down a specific path (e.g. molecular biology) to get anywhere close to a good job. You'd most likely need a Masters or PhD to surpass being a lab technician. If you're happy with that, then go for it! However, if you're still unsure I'd recommend googling around and seeing what the job market is like because you'll definitely come out surprised. I have researched this for myself and I recently completely changed what I want to do. I used to want to do a biology degree and find some lab job but now I'm looking into biotechnology and maybe getting some business involved too. It's all up to your personal interests. I wish you the best of luck on your path.
