Dropping levels

Can my teacher force me to drop to OL english? I sat an assessment that I don't think I did very well on but in my defense I had 5 assessments in that week alone and I was stressed out of my mind but I KNOW i can do HL english ugh so is there a point in pleading with my teacher to keep me in HL or is that out of the question?

i don't think they can force you into any level, it's your choice alone. at the end of the day you're the one that chooses which paper to sit.

that's what I've been told by other students but she said that they're gonna drop people based off the grade with no discussions because too many peoply drop right before the LC exam but that's unfair to us cus we just abt started the course

its up to you, remember you dont need to do all Higher Level subjects. sometimes its easier to drop and lets you focus on other subjects. but if you want to stay in higher then they shouldnt force you. if they do get your parents to talk to the principal or guidance counciller

A teacher should never force you to drop levels, in my opinion. Maybe you should chat with the teacher, and discuss with them why they believe you should drop. But, you should never make a decision based on one poor assessment. After that conversation, you can then make your decision whether to drop or not. Notice that I say YOUR decision; it's your choice, not the teacher's.

at the end of the day, its your leaving cert. someone elses goal points may not be yours and that is the reality. your teacher can recommend a lower level but you are well able to choose what you want to do. think about yourself in the long run!
