Should i do a subject outside school for leaving cert?

I have chosen biology, chemistry and applied maths for leaving cert in school. I am wondering if i should do a subject outside school? if i should , would it be better if i chose to do physics or music (i did music for junior cert and I am a competent fiddle player)

Physics is more useful than Music, although finding a good tutor outside of school is both expensive and time consuming. Maybe just focus on the subjects in school instead of wasting time on another?

You can but if you SHOULD is really up to you and how much you think you can handle. If you choose Physics to do outside, that'll be 3 science subjects to juggle. You probably know how hard it is to juggle 2 let alone 3 (with 24 mandatory experiments in Physics) but if you understand that you will have to do triple work on just the sciences and you have enough interest and capability to pursue Physics along with the others, by all means, you're good to go! Music seems to be high up your alley so choosing that would be choosing something you definitely ENJOY learning and will manage really well and tend to score highly. You could use it as a subject where you just relax and enjoy while learning and doing and that'll really help you cope with all the other subjects you do. The usefulness of Music in careers and jobs is debatable however. It would really be more of a passion subject more than a career one for many paths. You should take in what COURSE or CAREER you want to pursue after the LC. How useful will Music or Physics be to you and your life? In my opinion, BECAUSE you already do 2 sciences and given your keen interest in it already, perhaps taking Music might be the best choice. Factor in everything else too, however. Good luck!
